Dead Light soundtrack splitboarding documentary 'The First Day Of Summer'

Award winning commercials and short film director Zak Emerson tells the story of splitboarding far off the beaten track in Iceland's far north, featuring a soundtrack made up of rearrangements from Dead Light's debut album.

This documentary short, 'The First Day Of Summer' premiered at the highly prestigious Banff Mountain Film Festival. Read the synopsis below.

Arriving on Iceland's official first day of summer, director Zak Emerson tells the story about splitboarding far off the beaten track. Featuring snowboard journalist Pete Coombs (Sidetracked magazine, Snow magazine) they hit the road, heading into the deep winter of Iceland’s far north, and the untouched Troll Peninsula.

Travelling through such a harsh landscape, Pete begins to question his reasons for being there. Why visit such a remote Arctic country, in search of fresh powder turns, when the resorts of the alps offer relative safety and back up? Why risk so much: family, friends, possibly even his own life, for a simple adrenalin kick?
